Start of H.A.W.K. 5K on 8/15/09

 

 

 

The Tipton Motel hosted a Benefit Day with all proceeds going toward Paul Beatty for his trip to Germany for a chance to possibly regain the ability to walk again. Below is the schedule for the day:

8:00 a.m.  -  H.A.W.K. 5K - Sponsors - Tipton Motel, Family Foods, Junction Auto RESULTS

  •  Entry fee: Pre-registration $15 (through 8/14); Race day registration $20; Awards - Trophies to overall winners, medals to age group and weight class winners

11:00 a.m. - Hoover Ball Tournament - Sponsor - Hawkeye Wrestling Club

  • Entry fee: TBD; Awards - Trophy to winning team 

11:00 a.m. - Horseshoe Pitching Tournament - Sponsor - Hawkeye Wrestling Club

  • Entry fee: $10 per team; Awards - Trophies to winning team 

11:00 a.m. - Bean Bag Toss Tournament - Sponsor -  

  • Entry fee: $10 per team; Awards - Trophies to winning team

12:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. - Car Show and Shine - Sponsor - Junction Auto FLYER

  • Entry fee: $10 per vehicle; Awards - Door prizes

12:00 - Kids Games (Softball & Football Accuracy, Tug of War, Takedowns & Races - 1 mile for 14 & under, 1/2 mile for 10 & under, 1/4 mile for 5 & under) - Sponsor - Cedar Ridge Dental 

  • Entry fee: FREE; Awards - Participation ribbons

12:00 - Lunch (butterfly chop, potato salad, baked beans & drink) $5 per plate - Sponsor - Family Foods & Cook Mike Denkman 

2:00 p.m. - Takedowns - Sponsor - Challis Enterprises

  •  Entry fee: $5

2:00 p.m. - Tug of War - Sponsor - Scott Morningstar, Lisbon Insurance 

  • Entry fee: $20 per team

6:00 to 8:00 - Concert featuring Janelle Lauer (Lincoln, Stanwood Graduate), FLYER, with surprise appearances - Sponsor - Liberty Trust & Savings Bank

  • Janelle is one of the most accomplished singers in the Midwest with a wide range from rhythm and blues to Motown.

  • Tickets: $20 for adults, $10 for children 6-18, FREE for children 5 & under

Intermission of Concert - Doug Sayers, World Champion Juggler, FLYER, - Sponsor - WalMart of Tipton. Doug will perform his world championship act along with walking around performing before the concert. He will perform his fire act at the conclusion of the concert.

There will be Kettle Corn and refreshments for sale and available all day.
